Here are a few different common problems and potential solutions. You might want to start by checking the fuses. If you find a blown fuse, try replacing it and then driving around for a while to see if it blows again. While it may be tempting to "fix" a blown fuse by using a heavier duty fuse, it's important to actually drill down, find the root of the problem, and correct it.
The nature of car fuses means that you can easily replace a weak 5A fuse with a heavy-duty 40A fuse, since they have the same size and shape, but doing so could destroy your wiring or even cause a fire. If you have a voltmeter or test light, you can check for power and ground at the fuse block and also at the radio itself to help locate the fault. If you have a car radio that works sometimesand suddenly cuts out at other times, that can be more difficult to diagnose.
The issue could be related to the amp if you have an external amp or the speaker wires. Depending on where your amp is located, it may be easy or quite difficult to check the amp. Some amps have in-line fuses while others are fused at the amp itself, and some installations have more than one fuse.
If the amp fuse is blown, that is probably the reason that you aren't getting any sound out of your car radio. In some cases, a broken wire or bad connection in the speaker wires where they pass through into a door can also cut off the sound altogether rather than just cutting off the sound to one speaker.
If you find that your sound comes back on if you open and shut the door, that may be the problem, or it could be a ground issue. For instance, a loose or corroded antenna can cause poor reception or no reception at all.
In that case, tightening the antenna connections or buying a new antenna will fix your car radio problem.
A Guide to Screw-In Fuses
If you've recently moved to a new area, or you're just trying to listen to one station that you can't receive any more, then an antenna booster may also fix the problem.
This isn't going to be the fix you're looking for if the radio doesn't work at all, but if you're just having a problem with weak signals, then it may do the trick. Another surprisingly common car antenna issue has to do with manually retractable whips. Tweet Share Email.

I go to the fuse panel and take out the fuse for the radio, but the fuse is good to go. Out of curiosity, i turn the vehicle on and the then the radio works. This happen to me about ten times with fusions and Edges. Don't know why it does that. Birdshit71 answered 2 years ago. Dealing with the same issue as of tonight.
The past two three weeks it seems like regular played stations aren't coming in clear too. Now the radio try to turn on and just returns back to the time and date screen. GuruZ3FKY answered 2 years ago. I had the same problem with my Fusion radio.
Dead battery, charged it, car starts but radio not working. Not fuses. What I found was to turn ignition to accessory only, do not start car. Your radio should work now. I don't know why but it worked for me. Now about two weeks later the radio did this again without battery dying.
So when I got home I left the car and radio turned off for 15 or 20 minutes and turned to accessory and the radio works again.
If anyone has an explanation for this I would be interested in reading it. Robert answered 2 years ago. I tried pulling the radio fuse 39 fusion and still nothing. A day later I was gonna retry it and a couple other things and ended up dropping the radio fuse and couldn't find it. A few days later I was gonna try removing battery terminal and touch the pos and neg cable together to make sure all power was out.
I also unplugged all wiring harnesses to the inside fuse box. I hooked everything back up started the car and nothing Still. I'm not sure if it was a combination of these task or just letting the fuse stay out for a few days or maybe just putting it in while running but somehow it corrected the issue. I hope this works for you guys.
Guru5F answered 2 years ago.Yeah, a little. Am I confident it will become a bigger problem over time? Yeah, a lot. So how do you find out what problems are occurring? Any duplicates or errors?

After getting home I notice the brake light didn't go off after 2 hours, so I had to remove battery cable. I had to have it towed to repair shop and they repaired brake switch because I didn't know if it would stop completely. The seat belt tightened up. I noticed it a few days ago. Today when I was trying to put the seat back up it wouldn't because the seat belt has no slack to let it come up.

Traveling across the country, the problem happened again. After returning home and having more work done, the problem continued to happen. When on city roads, in the driveway or parking lots, the stalling continued. In only nine months, the new spark plugs needed to be replaced and two engine coils had failed. Then after this work was completed, the problem continued but no engine light had come on.
Then in December the car was taken to a Ford dealership in Kansas to be diagnosed.
After claiming the transmission needed work or even worse possible replacement, I was faced with the question of whether or not to keep the car. After the car was finished at the dealership with no repair done other than a recall, the engine light came on and the problem became worse: More frequent and more intense shaking. After multiple calls made to the dealership to inquire about after market warranty coverage on the repair, the dealership has not called back. My Ford Fusion SE has a recall on it for the brushing transmission cable.

Also, the bluetooth still connects and works, but I cannot press the talking button on the indicator stick. Anyone else had this issue before?

I'm pretty sure you don't need to worry about the radio code on these cars because they don't actually have one my certainly doesn't have one so don't see why yours would. When I've been messing about with my unit I've occasionally had to pull a couple of fuses because it stopped working. If you look in the user handbook you will see the location for two fuses, one for the radio one for bluetooth I think.
Might be worth pulling those? I think one is 7. Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC. I'll check out the fuses this afternoon. Had a look a day or two ago in the fuse box, but the lid didn't show any fuses for the radio.
Other issue with finding the fuses is that I never got a handbook with the car! All other docs, just no handbook Personally I'd just disconnect the battery for 10 mins first and see if that makes a difference. Its definitely helped me in the past with the fiesta!!! Mike, battery did the job.

Mine is GS F-Sport. Yesterday when I started my car and turn on my radio. It was fine at the beginning, suddenly the voice went off, the volume button both panel and the steering wheel not response, the navigation voice went off too but still functioning, hands free still work but no voice too.
You still can dial and receive the call. Suddenly the radio comes up again. Then keep going on and off! Anyone has suggestions and advice?? That makes me disappointed and!
How come for a 3 years old car will have is kind of problem without warranty. Is anyone can help me for solving that kind of worry! Lexus test invoice. I don't think you said if the radio is a Premium radio or a "Mark Levinson".
First, with only 4 years on it check the miles as well to see if it's still under warranty. If it is a "Mark Levenson" it's likely to be the amplifier. The ML product has had a consistent amplifier for years.
When it works, it's great. If you have a standard sound package be sure to look for bad fuses in the front fuse box front left panel next to your left foot.
